Swedish duo jj have just released this beauty of a dreampop ballad. It’s called ‘Fågelsången’ (The Bird Song), but it’s in English.
We wrote about these two last year, and their exceptional ‘Beautiful Life‘. Though we’ve not been following them as closely as some other music websites have been. The odd really good song, the odd WTF moment seems to be their forte. And at first we marked ‘Fågelsången’ down as one of those WTF moments. However, on repeated listens, it’s revealed itself to be something of a stunner. It’s one of those songs that doesn’t really benefit from a dissection and an attempt to explain why it’s so good. It’s a strange strong. But it’s absolutely beautiful. Undeniably so, actually.
