Avicii has unleashed another worldwide hit waiting to happen. Like he seems to do so well these days. ‘Last Dance’ by the Swedish super producer has been floating around online in its instrumental format for a few months now. But us pop heads always need a bit of vocals. And this morning, P3 radio played the Swedish radio premiere of the vocal version and radio edit of the single – featuring Avicii’s fellow young Swedish chap Andreas Moe (pictured above)
Andreas Moe of course has already appeared on one of Avicii’s biggest singles, ‘Fade Into Darkness’, and he did a marvellous job at it, so it’s not surprising that he’s been invited back.
Bizarrely though, as good a job as Andreas Moe makes of the topline once again, it’s not quite those vocals that serve up the part of ‘Last Dance’ that you’ll be humming (or rather whistling) afterwards. Instead, the song plays host to a surprisingly infectious whistle riff that’s probably the catchiest element of the song. Still, this new vocal version is a much much better a song than the original that we’d been getting used to.
So yes, it does indeed appear that Avicii and Andreas have served up another club, radio, and iTunes favourite. These boys need to continue this alliance.
