The new single? Released today, it’s the brand new one from one of the modern day greats – Ace Wilder. Here’s ‘Stupid’.
‘Stupid’? As in – spunking away all of the good will and attention you earned on the Melodifestivalen stage, by releasing only one song in the year that followed? Erm…no. But that really was a bit of a strange way to go about things, wasn’t it? We’re quick to forgive if the end result is good enough though – and ‘Stupid’ is INCREDIBLE!
So what’s it like? You know when you hear a song for the first time and wonder how you’re ever going to take it off repeat? That. We genuinely don’t think there’s going to be any other song we’ll end up listening to more this summer. It sounds like a logical progression in Ace Wilder’s style – in that it almost sounds like they’ve taken the best bits of three of her previous singles ‘Busy Doin Nothin’, ‘Riot’, and ‘Do It’, and bred them into a new and superior life form. Mercifully, they’ve popped an extended version onto the Spotify release – because Christ knows that three minutes of this banger is just not enough!
