Zara Larsson today came out with her latest single. It’s ‘Rooftop’, the lead single from her first full length album ‘1’.
This one is a bit special, because of what it does to merge two genres together. At its heart, it’s a classic r&b song. But it’s been produced as an electro track. And exceptionally well, at that. Basically it sounds like a 2014 Robyn song and a 1998 Robyn song at the same time. How about THAT!
And 16 year old Zara holds the two styles together with a vocal that manages to outshine even that awesome production.
This debut album of hers is blates gonna be brill – because Sweden’s bestest songwriting and production talent are clearly giving all of their good stuff to Zara Larsson.
‘Rooftop’ is written by Rickard Goransson and Marcus Sepermanesh. The ‘1’ album will be out on October 1st.
