Zara Larsson this week premiered a brand new song of hers, always a cause for delight. She chose the grand Nordisk Julkonsert, featuring a line-up of Veronica Maggio, Laleh, Rasmus Seebach, and Emmelie de Forest amongst others, to showcase the track to the widest audience possible (the concert was broadcast on TV throughout the Nordics).
‘Carry You Home’ is the tune in question – a grown-up pop song with the heart of ‘Uncover’, the minimalist beat of ‘Bad Boys’, and the intricate melody of something new entirely. Zara Larsson has been winning critics and music fans over not just with the quality of her songs but also the fact that each one sounds so different to the other. And ‘Carry You Home’ continues both of those trends nicely. There ain’t new popstar in Scandinavia doing it like she’s doing it.
