Emilia de Poret has a new single out in the US this week. ‘Weightless’. We wrote a little about it last week, but back then we were only able to bring you a clip of the song. Now, her US label Robbins have uploaded the whole thing to You Tube. Which is awfully nice of them.
So below you can listen to the track in all its glory. A song which we feel could be a 15 year homage to Madonna’s ‘Frozen’, arriving 2 years ahead of its time. Or perhaps a 10 year homage to Madonna’s ‘Frozen’, arriving 1 year too late – since it actually appeared on Emilia’s album 2 years ago! Either way, whatever it is, it’s a hugely enjoyable listen. And we’re glad that it’s here. And now.
Below that you can take a listen to the Richard Vission remix. Hmmmm, we’re not so enamored with that one unfortunately. On the one hand we give it the benefit of the doubt and think that well of course this remix wasn’t really meant to appeal to fey folk with ears such as ours. But on the other, we can’t help but remember how much we loved the Richard Vission remix of Emilia’s previous single, ‘Pick Me Up’. So we anticipated a similar level of enjoyment with this. Oh well, it’s not awful per say. And it DOES feature a lot of sirens. So all is not lost.
