Vienna are a new Swedish band, and ’Drowning’ is their debut single.
And that’s about the extent of our knowledge on this one!
We do however, know that ‘Drowning’ is a good song. In fact it’s very good. A mid-tempo jaunt with dreamy instrumentation and uplifting strings. Although any sense of bliss you get from those strings is counteracted by the vocal and lyrics. As the title suggests, it’s all very despairing and depressing. That’s not a bad thing though – instead, it makes for a cracking tune. We feel a tad guilty for enjoying the heart wrenching regaling of this lady singer’s woes – but enjoy it we did! Superb stuff.
And if anyone could point us in the general direction of a website or Facebook page about these “Vienna” characters, well that would be great, ta.
