Tove Styrke has this week released her brand new single ‘Borderline’. And even more excitingly – announced that a BRAND NEW EP (also called ‘Borderline’) will be released at the end of November. Spiffing. Absolutely spiffing.
We first wrote about ‘Borderline’ back in April when a remix of it appeared on a Feminist compilation album that was released in Sweden. The actual proper real version of ‘Borderline’ doesn’t stray TOO far away from that remix it turns out. She’s fully embraced the reggae that we heard on that remix, and ramped things up quite considerably on the proper single edit. The new ‘Borderline’ has a lot more MEAT to it. And we like it now even more than we liked it then.
There’s no denying the fact that we’ve quite clearly lost the old Tove Styrke (and perhaps that was to be expected after a three year gap). But regardless of how far away ‘White Light Moment’ seems now, we can see ourselves getting to really like this new Tove Styrke.
