Norway’s premier poppet Tone Damli returned this week with a brand new single. And then put it together with her previous four singles (’Winner of a Losing Game’, ’Perfect World’, ’Smash’, ’Hello Goodbye’), to make a five song EP. Her own Greatest Hits album of 2012 to 2014, if you will.
The new single (and the title of the EP) is ’Heartkill’. A super sweet electronic pop gem that bleeps and blips its eyelashes at the listener. We all know by now that few girls pull of the sweet vocal thing without appearing too saccharine, like our Tone does. She gets the Tone right, arf arf etc. It’s distinctly 80s flavoured, so in a way ’Heartkill’ is a lot like early Madonna doing Tone’s own ’Butterflies’. And that’s good.
