The most attractive and most talented girl group in the history of Scandinavian pop music have just today put out the 4th single from their 2nd album, ‘Tabu’.
Keeping it topical, being that tomorrow is Sweden’s annual big Midsommar celebration, Timoteij have gone with ‘Ta Mig Till Sommaren’ (Take Me To The Summer) as the new single of choice. On their Facebook page earlier today, they called it the year’s summer single. And if they’re saying it, we’re believing it.
It’s the new album’s opening number – setting the tone of the record well, since it embodies their new 50/50 mix of the ethnic music of their previous album, coupled with their new experimentation with dance beats. The song is irresistibly sweet, and as they’ve said themselves, very very summery.
We also want to point out how remarkably well received the new album ‘Tabu’ has been in Sweden. Despite a shaky start 4 weeks ago entering the charts at number 23, it climbed up to number 3 the following week. And it’s spent the last two weeks locked at number 2. Quite an achievement, particularly when you take into consideration that they are now on their own record label (owned by their management), and also when you look at how little longevity pop albums are having on the Swedish charts these days.
