Sweden’s biggest new pop phenomenon of 2013 (no small feat when you consider 2013 was also the year of Zara Larsson), The Fooo, this week released a brand new track online. And a new performance video too. For that is their thing, and all that.
It’s called ‘Fridays Are Forever’ and it’s flipping brill. Brill because it’s basically a cross between One Direction boyband territory, and late 90s/early 00s boyband territory. In other words, they’ve taken everything that was ever great about any boyband ever, and put it in a new boyband song. We’re telling you readers, The Fooo are The Shiz. Fuck knows if they’ll be The Next Big Thing (outside of Sweden), but they’re most certainly The Next Best Thing. They keep getting it right with every new release and they seem to keep getting bigger in their native territory too – with the likes of Aftonbladet and Expressen nowadays sensationalising things every time one of their live performances outdoors gets a little bit out of hand.
But yeah, back to the song. Amazing. It’s like first album era S Club 7! And what an accolade that is!
