You might have noticed that we’re partial to a bit of pop around these parts. So as 2014 draws to a close, yes, why not take a look back at the year in pop music and highlight the best that has been released and the ever-amazing popstars who have been releasing it. Let’s host the seventh annual Scandipop Awards!
We’ve compiled thirteen categories, each having six nominations within. Celebrating the artists, the albums, the EPs, and most importantly of all – the songs. Once again we’ve also got our Brightest New Hope category, highlighting six brand new pop acts that we expect to be releasing sublime new music in 2015. But the main focus of course is on the best of the best of the last tweve months. Like, the absolute best.
Now then. The nominations. As always, you cannot vote in these thirteen categories – winners of each will be announced in January.
But we DO want to hear from you, and tell us your pick of the year. As with previous Scandipop Awards, we want you to vote for your favourite artist of the last twelve months. We’re calling it the Scandipop Readers Artist of the Year award. And details on how to vote are at the bottom of the page.

SCANDIPOP READERS ARTIST OF THE YEAR
For this category we want to hear from you. Vote for your number 1 artist of the last twelve months. It can be any popstar you want, they don’t have to have been nominated in any of the other categories. It can be a group, a girl, a man, a boy, a manboy manboy you can call me manboy, a newcomer, a veteran, a duo, or transgendered icon. Basically any Scandipopstar. They just need to be Nordic – obviously. And they need to have released music within the last twelve months (yeah, sorry Danny).
TO VOTE:
1. Take to Instagram!
2. Instagram a pic of your Artist of the Year.
3. Caption it with “My vote in the @scandipop awards” – that way we’ll be notified of it, as we’re tagged
4. And there you have it – you’ve voted.
You have until Sunday January 11th to take part and to help your favourite popstar be awarded the title of everyone’s favourite in the land(s). And only one vote per Instagram account will be accepted. Tack.
