Well now this is a lot better than it has any right to be. An acoustic version of a Swedish House Mafia single! What trickery is this?!
The club kings who are retiring at the very top of their game with ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ as their farwell single, have yesterday released a genuinely brilliant acoustic arrangement of the song (remember when they used to be called “candlelight versions”?!).
Thankfully it’s more than just an acoustic guitar that’s been put into the mix – although of course a quality production is what we’d hope and expect from these chaps. The John Martin vocal and a wonderfully crafted piece of music turns the song into something of a cross between (modern day) Take That and Coldplay. And it’s well worth a listen – whether you enjoyed the original or not. What a swan song.
While we’re at it, something related has cropped up online recently too. And something which unlike the acoustic version of the song, unfortunately doesn’t turn out as well as it wanted to. It’s a mash-up of ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ with Loreen’s ‘Euphoria’. It actually sounds quite good during the verses. But there’s something a little jarring about the chorus, which is a shame. Judge for yourselves.
Anyway, this is what we came for;
