Here we have a brand new tune courtesy of some Swedish dance music deities!
The song is called ‘Swedish Angel’ and it’s by a new dance outfit going by the name of Swedish Angels. You might not know the name but you may well recognise one of the ladies within the duo – it’s Denise Lopez who’s enjoyed a pop career as DeDe Lopez throughout the last decade or so in Sweden. She’s joined by DJ Miss Lopez, aka Jennifer Lopez (not that one!). Both ladies are now full time DJ’s primarily, and have been landing gigs as a DJ duo for the last few months. But they’ve now decided to pool their talents together into releasing music, pegging themselves on the same page as the likes of Rebecca & Fiona. And so now we have the first fruits of their labour, the single ‘Swedish Angel’ featuring vocalist Charlie King.
The song was co-written by Niklas Pettersson whom you will all know from his most recent work as the producer of Dilba’s Melodifestivalen hit, ‘Try Again’. Denise wrote the track with Niklas, and it was produced by Alex Rosta and Jacob Lundahl.
It’s an uplifting house track, heavy on the serotonin levels! It’s sort of like a cross between the rave bits of ‘I’m Not Alone’ by Calvin Harris, and ‘Bromance’ by their fellow Swede, Tim Berg. Definitely inspired by the most popular sound of commercial dance music in the last twelve months or so. Based on this, we shall be keeping a close eye on these ladies, and what they bring out in the future!
