1. ABBA (375 million albums)

ABBA is a pop band whop rocked the world during the 70s. The name of the band is derived from the first letter of each band member. You may remember the hits like “Does Your Mother Know,” “S.O.S.” and “Dancing Queen” which took the fans by storm.

2. Roxette (75 million albums)

Classic rock fans will always remember the name of Roxette who were one of the pioneers of the genre. People around the world still swing their legs to the tune of hits such as “Dangerous,” “The Look” and “The Look.” “It Must Have Been Love” is another sentimental hit of the band.

3. Ace of Base (50 million albums)

Ace of Base is the third most famous Swedish band having sold 50 million albums worldwide. During 1990s they were top chartbusters and had some memorable tours. Some of their hits include “The Sign,” “All That She Wants” and “Don’t Turn Around.”

4. Avicii (30 million albums)

Avicii or Tim Bergling would have been one of the top DJs if not for his untimely death. Fans were shocked by the news of his suicide in April, 2018. They could not believe that the creator of tunes such as “Levels,” “Hey Brother” and “Wake Me Up” would leave the earth at the age of 27.

5. Europe (23 million albums)

We don’t really need to tell you much about the band Europe- everyone knows the song “The Final Countdown!” The band released some of the best hits during 1970 – 1980 as still popular all over the world.

6. The Spotnicks (18 million albums)

The band was formed in 1961 and went on to become one of the most noted Swedish instrumental bands of all times. The ruled the scene during 1960s with hits like “Johnny Guitar,” “Ghostriders In The Sky” and “The Rocket Men.” They were also famous for wearing space suit costumes while performing.

7. The Cardigans (15 million albums)

The Cardigans are a famous rock band formed in 1992. They came to the limelight with their debut album Emmerdale which received good response in Sweden and other countries. Later they produced many hits like “Erase/Rewind,” “Lovefool” and “I Need Some Fine Wine and You.”

8. Dr. Alban (14 million albums)

Dr. Alban is known all over the world for his famous song “It’s My Life.” The Nigerian born Swedish artist became popular all over the world with his album One Love and produced other hits like “I Like To Move It” and “Let The Beat Go On.”
