The new single? AND video! Released today (in Sweden only, unfortch), but the video you can watch wherever you are in the world. It premiered on Expressen this morning, and you can watch it below.
What’s the song like? An effortlessly fun r&b pop track. It thankfully falls into line with her better r&b tracks of yesteryear – ‘Rooftop’, ‘Wanna Be Your Baby’, and ‘Bad Boys’ – avoiding comparisons with the weaker Beyonce-lite numbers that found their way onto her previous album. We like Zara Larsson when she’s sounding like Zara Larsson, rather than trying to sound like her idol. And with ‘Lush Life’ she’s sounding like Zara Larsson – who just so happens to be one of the best popstars in the world right now.
What’s a ‘Lush Life’? She’s singing about breaking up with her former fling, in order to enjoy a single life in which she lives it to the absolute fullest.
Written by? Emanuel Abrahamsson, Linnea Södahl, Iman Hultén, Markus Sepehrmanesh, Christoph Bauss and Fridolin Walcher.
And what happens in the vid? It’s a studio vid, featuring just Zara. Well – we say just Zara. Zara in a variety of unfeasibly stylish looks, and performing the actual (lush) life out of the song like the awesome popstar she is.
