What’s this? We have the first song released from Netflix’s much hyped Eurovision movie.
A Eurovision movie? Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga. Produced by Netflix, set in Iceland. It stars Will Ferrell, Rachel McAdams, Pierce Brosnan, Dan Stevens and Demi Lovato. The film follows Icelandic singers Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir as they are given the chance to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest.
And now we have a song? The first song released from the film (the film will be released on June 26th) is called ‘Volcano Man’. Cos Iceland is famous for volcanoes and stuff.
What’s it like? Well at only 1:21 in length, it’s a tad difficult to make a total judgement. But we’d say that on this initial basis, this Eurovision film has got quite the potential to be schlager-tastic! One (demi) song in and it appears that they may well have gotten it right.
Written by? Christian Persson and Gustaf Holter. Pleasingly, Netflix have seemingly gone fully Nordic on this project. And is….is that….Molly Sandén we hear singing as Rachel McAdams lip syncs?…
