What’s this? Swedish artist Violet Days is out with her first new tune in over a year. She’s back with all the pop majesty we’ve come to expect from her by now – on new single ‘First Times’.
What’s it like? A reflective number that morphs into a bombastic bop as the song seemingly gets deeper into its feelings and becomes sonically elevated to a more blissed out state; at the level of the subject of its introspection. Tremendous stuff, all in all!
What does she say? “We wrote ‘First Times’ about chasing that euphoric feeling of doing something for the first time. How a broken heart hurt so much when you were 17, and how you can sometimes wish yourself back to the naivety of being so unaware of love and life.”
Written by? The artist herself, along with Cassandra Stroberg and regular collaborator Kristoffer Eriksson, who also produced it.
More from Violet Days? Last year she delivered what ended up being one of our most played summer anthems of 2021 – ‘Shut The World Up‘.
