These past six months have seen the Swedish artist SVEA stage a terrific comeback to pop. At the end of last year she released the suitably titled ‘Iconic‘, and she’s also been scoring big streaming numbers with the Offenbach collab ‘Body Talk‘. Now she’s back with a new song of her own. Her latest single ‘Effort’ is a catchy r&b-pop tune from the point of view of a down-trodden and under-appreciated partner. “I’ve been putting in the effort, but the only thing you put in is your D” is a lyric that is open to interpretation; and that interpretation might even vary as being either a positive or a negative to some! But whatever your thoughts on it, it’s the perfect anchor for this infectiously playful tune.
