This has been a loooong time coming! It ruddy well has. It’s been nearly three years since Petra Marklund reinvented herself with the ‘Inferno’ album – an album which turned out to be the biggest of her career in her native Sweden. And now today she launches the follow-up to that album. It’s the first single from her new one. ‘Det Som Händer i Göteborg (Stannar i Göteborg)’.
What’s it like? Translating as “What Happens in Gothenburg – Stays In Gothenburg’, it’s an up-tempo and rousing number with a bit of a mental production, once it gets going. So much so that we’d LOVE to hear an instrumental version too. While being pretty damn good in itself, it doesn’t sound like it would be billed as the obvious hit from a new album – so we’re expecting even bigger things to come.
Written by? Petra Marklund herself, along with Jonas Quant and Ana Diaz (who both most recently helped Agnes score a massive hit with ‘One Last Time’).
When’s the album out? No word on a date yet, but Petra herself was all over social media last night trilling about how much new music we’ll all be getting soon. And hooray for that!
