What’s this? Finnish artist Olivera is back with her first new single since competing in UMK, Finland’s national final for Eurovision. She returns with ‘Repeat This Song’.
What’s it like? The sonic imagining of the idea that yes, things are a bit awful, but we’re not here for a long time so let’s just enjoy it. The music and the lyrics perfectly tap into the simultaneous half-glass-full and half-glass-empty nature of such a statement. And of course, as well know by now, Olivera’s vocal can translate her message to the listener with great aplomb.
What does she say? “It’s an anthem about dancing with your dark side.”
Written by? Alpo Nummelin, Katriina Ullakko and Lenno Linjama.
More from Olivera? She scored quite the hit in Finland with her UMK song, and deservedly so – ‘Thank God I’m An Atheist‘.
