What’s this? The hugely beloved Swedish artist Laleh is back with her first English-language release in a couple of years – her new single ‘Change’.
What’s it like? An empowering message paired with an uplifting pop production, it’s an overall package that might well have come off as preachy in less skilled hands. But at this point in Laleh’s career, we’re so in awe of her lyrical wisdom, that we’re fully fledged subscribers to whatever she’s selling us with each new tune.
What does Laleh say? “‘Change’ is about change! Summer is here now and it’s going to be easier to start believing and hoping – both for yourself but also for your future. In the music video for ‘Change’, we have children storming into a business meeting. They are trying to save the adults, but also their future, too. And that future is probably theirs anyway. But it’s not just up to the children – we have to be on their side now and we’ve got to change.”
Written by? Laleh herself, along with Gustaf Thörn.
