What’s this? Swedish duo Klara & Jag have got themselves a new bop out – their latest single ‘(Du Är Så) Yeah Yeah, Wow Wow’.
What’s it like? It’s actually a cover of a Melodifestivalen classic! The song was written and originally released by the artist Martin, who competed with it in Melodifestivalen 1999. The song finished in 4th place behind winner Charlotte Nilsson, runner-up Drömhus and 3rd-place Arvingarna, but it did at least finish in a higher position than both Roger Pontare (5th) and Christer Björkman (10th). The tune also went on to spend two weeks at number 1 on the official Swedish singles chart.
What have Klara & Jag done with it? Glammed it up, loaded it with fizzy pop, and sent it packing on a night out on the town. Their version is a string-laden, synth-ridden makeover that turns it into an unmissable new classic.
Written by? Written by Martin Svensson, produced by Kristofer Östergren.
More from Klara & Jag? They recently released their ‘I Stadens Famn’ EP.
