37 years after it became the first song by a Norwegian act to reach number 1 on the UK singles chart, Norway’s own KEiiNO have released a cover of a-ha’s seminal ‘The Sun Always Shines On TV’. They’ve given it something of an early- 00s trance makeover. Which, perhaps by pure coincidence, or perhaps because they are genuine pop visionaries, actually puts the song right in line with the song that was at number 1 in the UK last week – ‘Miracle’ by Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding. It’s a funny old game, pop music. But KEiiNO are clearly marvellous players at it!
