What’s this? The Swedish duo Ivy Nord deliver a special kind of synth sound on their latest single – ‘Stay’.
What’s it like? An ambitious fusion of experimental electronica and mainstream pop that gets the balance of both *just* right enough to make for an essential listen. And indeed, an essential playlist addition. If you’re into that sort of thing. Which you probably are, cos you’re here right now.
What do they say? “We wrote ‘Stay’ in Northbound Studios in Stockholm. We were hanging out in the studio talking about break-ups and how common it is for people to lose themselves in relationships and that it can be a tough process to find the courage to leave the person that has become your safety. With this song we want to encourage people to leave what no longer serves them, to truly find themselves again and to be happy.”
Written by? The duo themselves (Sara and Matilda), plus Daniel Wilhelmson and Nellie Fors.
More from Ivy Nord? We were also quite partial to their previous single, too – ‘Scissors‘.
