What’s this? Norwegian artist Ina Wroldsen has just released a powerful new tune that deserves all your attention. This is ‘More’.
What’s it like? An unsettling piano ballad that ramps up the drama and the theatrics the deeper it sprirals into discomfort. That could potentially have gone one of many ways, but thankfully it turns into something that is going to encourage repeat plays. It aimed pretty damn big, it must be said – but it hit its mark just beautifully.
What does Ina say?‘More’ was written in London, with Steve Mac. I planned to write words and melodies that called for survival and moving on that day. ‘More’ wanted out instead. Before I knew it, I had written a song about relentless, almost obsessive love. I felt naked recording it. We often focus on staying strong and in control in this life. ‘More’ is about allowing yourself to do the opposite. ‘More’ is about the kind of love that borders madness. And if you can find safety and peace in that kind of love, it truly is the best kind.”
More from Ina? With ‘More’ she completes the ‘Matters Of The Mind’ EP, from which she’s been releasing a new song every four weeks leading up to the release of the four-track EP.
