What’s this? Icelandic pop hero of 2020, Daði Freyr, has given the locals a good week or so to bask in the glory of his Eurovision song ‘Think About Things’. But now he’s ready to move on to the next release. New single ‘Where We Wanna Be’, released today.
What’s it like? Setting the tone with the opening lyric “stuck at home right now, but let’s enjoy ourselves somehow“, ‘Where We Wanna Be’ reveals itself to be a lockdown anthem with a heart – a love song to the one he’s quarantined with, and an optimism for the life beyond. Set to a funked up synthpop soundtrack – Daði style.
