Cornelia Jakobs reunites with her ‘Hold Me Closer’ co-writers for the much-anticipated follow-up to her Melodifestivalen winner and Eurovision Song Contest fourth-placer. New single ‘Rise’ ends up being something of a spiritual follow-up too, with the lyrics telling a story of Cornelia gradually edging out of the heart-break she sings of in ‘Hold Me Closer’. The tempo has been upped considerably, and the best bit of the song is its euphoric climax, as she repeats the song’s mantra to fade.
