What’s this? Clara Mae has got plenty of new music in English planned for 2021, but before that, she’s out with an extra special Swedish-language release for us.
What’s so extra special about it? It’s a cover of The 1975’s ‘Somebody Else’!
What’s she done with it? Flipping the language on it aside, she’s also given the synthpop banger something of a more dreamy, romantic makeover. Mercifully though, she’s remained faithful to the pounding electro of the original. Let’s call this the Swedish midsommar after hours mix.
What does Clara say? “I heard it for the first time last summer and it quickly became one of my favorite tracks. For some reason, I started to sing it in Swedish everytime I heard it. I translated it with my friend Cassandra and asked a true fan of The 1975, Max Thulin ,to produce it. When we got approved to release the translation I just couldn’t not! Hope you’ll like it even if you don’t speak Swedish!”
You can find ‘Någon Annan’ on our Best New Synthpop playlist.
