Who? Swedish/Sápmi trio Blänk (Klas, Lina and Simon to their nearest and dearest – and no, we don’t know which one is the shy one who won’t appear in their photos). They’re back after a three year break with a new single and album. This is the single – ‘Tears Run Dry’.
What does it sound like? It’s an instantly loveable electro track with a gloss of Nordic ice frozen over the top of it. Atmospheric, but quite uplifting at the same time too. After getting a bit lost in the dreamy vocals, the listener is brought back into the room with that key element of catchy pop music – cheeky repetition.
Written by? Blänk themselves, along with Swedish singer and songwriter Noonie Bao. Noonie has also been behind songs for Avicii (his UK number 1 ‘I Could Be The One’) and Charli XCX (‘Doing It’). We’ve also featured Noonie as an artist in her own right on Scandipop before too.
When’s it out? It’s out ruddy well now! And new album ‘Only Built For Northern Lights’ will follow on March 9th.
