We’ve featured Danish artist Bjørnskov on Scandipop quite a lot over the years – but it’s been an age since he was last on here. Now he’s back with a very special new single. ‘Videre I Mig’ is a song he has written for his Mother who unfortunately died in a tragic accident a couple of years ago. The melody for the song was written by him and his brother about fifteen years back, with Bjørnskov never being able to find the words to fill it. But with the passing of his Mother, he found the inspiration he needed to make the song happen. “I’ve had a big need to write this song for her, and it’s been really hard finishing it. That’s also the reason why I’ve been working on it for so long. But now it’s done and I finally feel like I get to say goodbye to her in a good way which I didn’t get a chance to do before she died”. It’s a huge piano ballad, with an epic melody. The sort of melody that serves at a heart-wrencher – and that’s even before you learn the inspiration for the lyrical content. It’s an absolute beauty. The song also marks the end of Bjørnskov’s Danish language music career – as henceforth he’ll be releasing songs in English.
