What’s this? A marvellous new single from Swedish duo Arrhult. ‘1999’.
What’s marvellous about it? That chorus melody is going to stay with us for the whole weekend, if not longer. Though probably our favourite bit is the final thirty seconds or so, when the song goes all The Weeknd and Daft Punk on us – having hinted at it throughout. ‘1999’ might even be better than the duo’s previous best – last year’s ‘Just Fiction‘.
What’s the 1999 all about? Well as well as the song being a tribute to the retro, it’s also a tribute to one of their favourite artists – Prince.
