What’s this? Finnish legend Arja Saijonmaa has gone and released a new version of her ’80s hit ‘Så Länge Hjärtat Slår’, with two Swedish producers – Brinkenstjärna and Alphaman.
What’s been done to it? It’s been sped-up into the kind of tempo that can see the song being introduced to grillfestar playlists all over the Nordics this summer, with a whole new production. We would be totally up for more ’80s diva classics given this same treatment tbqhwu.
Written by? It’s the Swedish version of Gene Haskin’s ‘Those Were The Days’, with Swedish lyrics by Ingela ‘Pling’ Forsman.
More from Arja? Now seems as good a time as any to take three minutes to appreciate her overlooked entry to last year’s Melodifestivalen – ‘Mina Fyra Årstider‘.
You can find ‘Så Länge Hjärtat Slår’ on our Best New Pop playlist.
