It had been an absolute AGE since we last heard from the young musical genius that is Sweden’s Amanda Mair. Last year though, she returned. A little bit older, but still most definitely a musical genius. She came back with two tracks – but then deleted them from Spotify. And now this weekend, she’s re-released them as a double a-side single. So once more we can fall in love with them. There’s ‘Wednesday’ – a stark and stunning ballad. Haunting is putting it mildly, this is veritably ghostly! And then there’s ‘Rush’. A dark and commandeering track that comes to life (and light) for a blissful instrumental post-chorus. An industrial production fused together with an impassioned vocal from one of Sweden’s most promising artists. Both songs a beautiful reminder of the artist that we were introduced to half a decade ago, and who left us for all too long. Stick around this time please Amanda.
