Norwegian pop starlet Selina Stoane has just finished her debut album, titled it ‘Streets Of Shanghai’, and popped it up on iTunes for sale this week.
‘One Sin Is Never Enough’ is the first song to be taken from it. A string drenched disco dancepop number that gets going within fractions of a second. There’s no messing about here. For all intents and purposes this has been produced to facilitate limp-wristed dalliances on the dance floors. The strings are hyper, and as such it’s the production which shimmers above all else here. However, a LOT of bonus points are awarded to the middle-eight and outro which see Selina repeat the sound of her own name on a whispered loop. That’s quite fab.
It sounds like a cross between Vanbot and Sophie Ellis Bextor. Is anyone else hearing that?
‘One Sin Is Never Enough’ is out now, and has been released outside of Norway too.
