Popjustice yesterday premiered the brand new single from Swedish/Australia duo Say Lou Lou. It’s ‘Better In The Dark’ and it comes out on December 16th (the press release gives that date and then a few paragraphs down says that it’ll be available as a digital bundle on November 25th – so take your pick really). That press release also says that it’ll be a double a-side with a new song ‘Beloved’ (which Popjustice rates as an even better song). So yes, it’s a good time to be fan of Scandinavian melancholic pop. As if you haven’t already noticed with ‘Maybe You’ and ‘Julian’, these two do it better than most.
‘Better In The Dark’ is another almighty example of their ability in this genre. A bit of a stunner, and there’s a sprightlier production than on their previous tracks. It’s still got a case of the sads though. This is Say Lou Lou.
The debut album is set to come in early 2014, along with a lot of UK activity – gigs and whatnot.
