We got ourselves an unexpected treat while tuning into Michael Casado’s radio show BAM! WEEKEND! on Friday night. One of Melodifestivalen 2012’s less hard hitting entries presented in a whole new light, and very much hitting hard!
It’s ‘Sanningen’ by Carolina Wallin Pérez. This is the original version, should you not be familiar. It’s quite a pretty little jaunt, isn’t it? Well Michael’s taken the vocals from the song and created a mash-up, using the production from one of his own upcoming tracks. The end result is one of those haunted on the dance floor moments, sort of in the same vein as what happened when Delirium got their hands on a Sarah McLachlan vocal and manufactured the legendary ‘Silence’. It shines a whole new beauty upon Carolina’s vocal and melody. It’s a bit of a stunner. Easy listening pop turned into club cruising dance music.
