A Swedish girl with a debut single that made us sit up and pay some ‘Salute’ style “atteeeenTION”. Here’s RAYE (capitalisation, artist’s own) and ‘Real Good’.
A down-tempo r&b “jam” with a soulful vocal. And a guest rap from May Dar. We know sweet fuck all about this RAYE girl (her Facebook page gives zilch away), so we can’t offer much insight into where she’s come from and what she’s setting out to do. But that matters not.
To be honest, we reckon the main reason we seem to like it so much is because of the fact that the quite awesome production evokes memories of that insane outro to Destiny’s Child’s ‘Get On The Bus’. And if she’s serving up some Timbaland realness on her debut single, then WHAT is to follow from this one?!
