As we all know by now, Ola has gone and released one of the best songs of 2010 as his new single – ‘All Over The World’. Since it was included on his album ‘Ola’, and also the ‘Overdrive’ EP earlier in the year, it’s become a huge fan favourite. Not just amongst his own fans either, but also amongst anyone with even a passing interest in the particular genre of Scandinavian pop music that we write about on here. Most of you will know the song already, and we’d hazard a guess that most of you love it too! It is, after all, amazing.
So, as a sort of a ‘thank you’ for all of the overwhelming appreciation and support that the song has received, outside of his usual fanbase, Ola has granted scandipop readers an exclusive listen to a teaser clip of a big new remix of ‘All Over The World’. We say ‘’big’’ because it’s by the Buzz Junkies, who have yet to produce a dud remix, be it for scandipop royalty like Robyn’s ‘Dancing On My Own’ and September’s ‘Resuscitate Me’, or UK releases by Cheryl Cole and The Saturdays. Their Ola remix is another gem to add to their CV. It’s very much a pop remix, but with a cooler electro bass thrown in too, in the form of a frantic bpm riff. The best thing about it though, is they’ve totally utilised what makes ‘All Over The World’ so amazing in the first place – THOSE strings! They’re prominent throughout, even present in the verses. They’ve basically made a whole song by using the best part of the original as their sample – so it works rather pleasingly well as a result!
The remix will be released in Sweden later this year (although the single is out now). And it’s also going to be part of a very exciting launch that Ola is finally getting in a very large territory. Not before time too! But that’s all we’re allowed to say on the matter just now.
