He released his much anticipated new album earlier this year, and now Ola has got a new single released from it, in the country where he finds himself the most successful these days – Italy.

He’s gone with ‘Rich & Young’. Good choice.

It was an instant favourite for us amongst the new tracks, when we first listened to the ‘Carelessly Yours’ album. Quite Icona Pop-esque in its production, and also vocally (that’ll be down to the fact that ‘I Love It’s Patrik Berger was on board with this too). It’s a tongue-in-cheek observation of posh brats thinking they rule the world, with Ola taking on the role of the Stureplan spend-a-holic spoilt guy. Ola says that it was inspired by a particularly ballsy chap coming up to him in a bar and mocking his out of season jacket. The utter cheek.

Because of the frivolous melody and the chanted vocal, the song sounds almost juvenile when compared to his previous single ‘Tonight I’m Yours’. But at the heart of it all, ‘Rich & Young’ is further pop brilliance from Scandinavia’s best male artist right now.

‘Rich & Young’ was written by Ola himself, along with Klas Åhlund, Shellback, Patrik Berger, Martin Sköld, and Kristofer Östergren.

The ‘Carelessly Yours’ album is out now in Scandinavia and across some other parts of Europe, although not yet in the UK. Wherever you are in the world though, you can pick it up on CD from our store.

EDIT: Ola has finally lifted that absolute bastard territory restrictions on the video for the single (*clap……clap…….clap*), so here you go;
