Last night the Nordics’ got its first entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2023. Norway was first out of the starting blocks, with its four-week Melodi Grand Prix coming to a head. The winner, with both the international jury vote and the public televote (and by quite some margin, too), is ‘Queen of Kings’ by Alessandra. A Scandi-folk meets techno-pop banger for the ages, which is sure to go down an absolute treat with the viewing public in Liverpool in May. The song has already started impacting the Spotify charts of the other Nordic nations, and it should be interesting to see if it takes off in an even bigger way between now and May. Norway chose very well last night.
