NRK today revealed the first 9 artists competing to represent Norway at next year’s Eurovision Song Contest. As always, three heats will take place beginning January, each with 7 songs. This afternoon they announced the 7 songs in Heat 1, and the first 2 songs in Heat 2. All remaining songs will be revealed at a later date.
Semifinal 1 – Ørland, January 15th
Carina Dahl – Guns & boys (Carina Dahl, Nanna Martorell, Hanne Sørvaag)
Use Me – Daisy (Jim André Bergsted)
Sichelle – Trenger Mer (Christine Dancke)
Sie Gubba – Alt Du Vil Ha (Magne Almås, Petter Øien)
Åste & Rikke – Not That Easy (Rikke Normann)
Helene Bøksle – Vardlokk (Cecilie Larsen, Helene Bøksle, Sindre Hotvedt, Knut Avenstroup Haugen)
Gatas Parlament – Jobbe Litt Mindre Og Tjene Litt Mer (Gatas Parlament, Alex Molkom)
Semifinal 2 – Florø, January 22nd

Babel Fish – You Can Depend On Me (Halvor Holter, Tarjei Van Ravens)
On first glance, there’s not much to get excited about, and they’re mostly unknown names to us. However, we are quite looking forward to Sichelle, as we liked her entry in 2009 ‘Left/Right’, and some of her singles since then. We’re also intrigued about Helene Bøksle, who is already being touted as a potential winner in Norwegian fan circles. She’s described as a Celtic/Nordic type of artist, with songs not similar to 90’s Eurovision winners ‘The Voice’ and ‘Nocturne’.
However, we’re reserving full excitement for this absolute TREAT below, Carina Dahl!
Why?
Well, her song is composed by Hanne Sørvaag, she’s dabbled in ridiculous pop music before, she’s from a reality tv show, and she’s done topless photo shoots – so is bound to be right up our street music wise! This year’s Lene Alexandra perhaps?!
