Here’s a Swedish singing lady that we hadn’t heard of before today. But then she’s quite new anyway, so we don’t have too much to catch up on.
What’s brought her to our attention is her new single ‘Do You Still Care’ which P3 radio in Sweden premiered this week, and which you can listen to below.
What first struck us about this girl is her voice – a hybrid between Tove Styrke and Robyn. We’re sure that’s wholly unintentional though, as her music doesn’t sound like either. Well, perhaps Tove Styrke might veer into that sonic territory one day, but it’s not something we can ever hear Robyn doing. This vocal is set to a truly haunting melody which itself is placed against an upbeat and ‘quirky’ pop beat. All in all it’s a thoroughly enchanting listen.
The celtic folk whistle during the middle eight is a nice touch too.
