Some brand new, Swedish produced, painstakingly conceptual, electropop music.

‘Delorean’ is the debut single from Nick Ellis & The Noise, a Stockholm based group put together by Niklas Möller aka this Nick Ellis character.

Nick is a little bit obsessed with the concept of time travel – citing it as an influence to the band’s music, naming his debut single after a time machine, and filming a video for it that pays tribute to the Back To The Future films. He’s also got himself a connection to the gent behind Robyn’s very own song ‘Time Machine’ – a one Max Martin. Nick (and his friend Lars Erlandsson) developed Addictive Drums, a widely used drum machine software, with Max Martin a few years back.

Anyway. This somewhat charming situation of a cute guy having a geek crush on some science fiction silliness makes for some good music and visuals – and that’s what we want. ‘Delorean’ is one of those songs that sounds so 80’s, you could actually be fooled into thinking it was made IN the 80’s. On top of that, there’s the sound of around a gazillion gadgets incorporated into things – all of which you just know Nick has conjured up in his bedroom all on his lonesome.
