We’ve been waiting for this for an age! Swedish singer Neo (he no longer appears to be capitalising the spelling of his own name) has finally gotten round to releasing as a single, the best song on his most recent ‘Reborn’ album. It’s ‘Swan Song’. Although since the album has been out for over a year now, he’s not just putting the bog standard version of the song out. No. Instead he’s made a whole new ‘Swan Song’. What a thoughtful chap.
This new version, as you can probably guess from the title of this post, is a bilingual recording of the song. Recorded as a duet with Italian singer Al Bano Carrisi. The Italian tenor adds a touch of even more drama and theatrics to the already hugely cinematic number. It sounds almost regal now. And the orchestra and choir from the original are all intact too thankfully. In short, the new ‘Swan Song’ is even grander and more ludicrous than the first version was. And that’s saying something. It’s pretty brilliant. Utterly ridiculous. But brilliant.
The single was released on iTunes yesterday, and Neo is allowing Scandipop to stream the track in full here and now.
