Few things in pop music make us as happy as a stonking great instrumental dance track being given a good vocal seeing to. It just feels right somewhow. Better. Finished.
‘Mellow‘ by Swedish dance act Nause is the latest recipient of such a practice. We love love loved the original and all of the unoffficial mash ups that followed. But now it’s been granted its very own vocal to crow about. Not a lot of vocals, in truth. But still, it’s been toplined, renamed as ‘Hungry Hearts’, and we think it sounds all the better for it.
We particularly like the “higher and higher” bit, where the singer does indeed go higher and higher. It’s the little things.
