Mohombi treated his Mohomies to a nice surprise this week, in musical form. His cover version of Passenger’s pan-global hit ‘Let Her Go’.
For the first twenty seconds or so, there’s a sense of disappointment that he’s not shamelessly and sacrilegiously bastarised the whole thing like he did with The Cranberries’ ‘Zombie’ (and no, we don’t mean the eventual, tame by comparison, single ‘In Your Head‘ – we mean the far more ludicrous, VETOED by The Cranberries, ‘In Your Bed‘!). But the disappointment soon subsides, because of course ‘Let Her Go’ IS an undeniable tune. And surprisingly, Mohombi’s take on the song is a tender, soft, respectful rendition of it.
