Here’s the fantastic debut single from a promising new artist. She’s Menoza, she’s from Denmark, and she’s released ‘Love Druggie’. And with it, marked herself as a promising artist to watch out for, right away.
The song was actually released last year, but Universal Music Sweden have only just picked it up for a Swedish release and are giving it a MAJOR push. They’ve already got her a performance slot at the Way Out West festival later this summer.
It’s a sort-of banger, this one. Sort-of in that you get the feeling that it could really REALLY bang if it wanted to, but it holds back somewhat. Perhaps in an attempt to increase its impact by not maximising impact, if that makes sense. It probably doesn’t.
‘Love Druggie’ is hugely catchy. And even though you don’t quite get the full picture of exactly what she’s singing, the lyrics are one of the best things about it. So that’s another contradiction it’s got to it. It’s a clever pop song that will stay with you. We’ve been playing it loads since it was sent to us yesterday. And we don’t intend on stopping any time soon.
