A new-ish singer from Sweden (well, she’s been in the music industry for over ten years, but in this incarnation she’s new), and bringing with her a pretty spiffing single and video. Matilda Thompson and ‘What We Do’.
Starting things off with a ‘Dancing On My Own’-esque intro, before turning into perfect fodder for the soundtrack of an American teenage drama series. Synths and guitars teaming up and providing a backing for a feelgood and uplifting song with a great pop hook within its chorus. ‘What We Do’ is as inoffensive as they come. But that’s all part of its charm. And ’tis a charming little pop song indeed. We’ve listening to and loving it a lot this week.
