Mary N’Diaye has been quiet since her 5th place finish in the first heat of this year’s Melodifestivalen with her song ‘Gosa’. However, she recently popped up on children’s TV show Sommarlov to perform a brand new track ‘Bara Du, Bara Jag’.
Thankfully it’s less ‘Gosa‘ and more ‘Big Dreamer‘. Although in truth, it’s really a cross between the two. But definitely closer to ‘Big Dreamer’. So that’s alright.
‘Bara Du, Bara Jag’ is dancepop with a slight tribal element to it. The verses promise a much better song than the bridge and chorus actually deliver. But on the whole, it’s an enjoyable song. One that we’d love to hear in full studio recording quality. On first listen, you think it could do with a bigger chorus. But that doesn’t stop it from being stuck in your head afterwards. So what do we know?!
Hurry on with that album of yours, Mary. You intrigue us.
